With 2 weeks to go my training has faltered to a mere a 22 miles on Sunday which was all I have ridden all week since the 55 miles the previous Sunday. This is due to the Great British weather and the requirement that we must all suffer colds in the what should be the summer. I thought I won't cycle and just rest for the week, which I did and ended up going out in the rain on sunday firstly to just get out and secondly to test my rain gear for the ride. Now on the positive side the rain gear I have bought worked ...hoorah and I am on the mend...hoorah...so hopefully I can get a few miles in this week and at the weekend and then slow it down again in the final week. I can't believe it is so close now and speaking to the rest of the gang we are now all ready to just get on with the riding. We have all been training, planning and raising sponsorshop for this for 6 months so to know its just round the corner is great. I bought the final bits and bobs for the ride this weekend and apart from a few deliveries I am now ready, with big bag to pack. Now I am getting closer I am now realising how much I am going to miss the Isabelle (3) and Livvie (1) ...oh and the wife of course!!!! ..parting from them when we leave is going to be tough, whats getting me through this is that we are 1.5 weeks away from the ride with about £9k in sponsorship already...that is fantastic. Also I have been following a couple of blogs (their links are on this page) and they are very good diaries and very motivational. If the guys read this bolg, well done and thanks for the motivation. Got to go now to try and figure out how I blog using my mobile so I can continue to do this on the ride. ta ra for now. p.s. just found the slideshow feature and figured it out please see the pre-ride photos of us all taken by our very own professional and freelance (avaiable to hire) photographer (Brother-in-Law) Mr James Stead.
